It's time for our 1st ever club contest!

It looks like the winning vote was for the 'Nap Time!' theme!

Contest Info:

Theme: Nap Time! Our beloved pets in the cuteness of naps and/or sleep/tired looking.

Rules/Submission Guidlines: You must be on our member list to submit a contest entry. One entry per person/account. Entries must fit the theme of the contest. I will be accepting entries for the next 10 days. At 5pm (EST) on November 29th I will stop accepting new entries and voting time will begin! Contest entries do not have to be new deviations, they can be any deviation you have in your gallery that fits the theme, if you wish to use one of those instead of taking a new photo. Photos can be in any color scheme. Have fun sneaking up on your sleepy pets for photo opportunities!

To submit a contest entry, NOTE the club (NOT a comment!) with "Contest" in the subject line.
If you wish to submit to our gallery during this time, please put something like "Submit" in the subject line instead. I will still be accepting regular submissions during contest time.
Your submission may be either a thumbnail or a link to the photo in your gallery.

Voting: Once voting time begins, I will collect votes for 10 days. I will start accepting votes after 6pm EST on November 29th, and stop accepting votes at 5pm EST on December 9th. To submit a vote for your favorite entries, NOTE the club (NOT a comment!) with either a thumbnail or a link to your chosen favorite deviation. Since we are still a small club, please just vote for 1 entry. Once we grow and get more members, in the future we can vote for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but for now we will just take votes for 1.
After counting the votes, a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be chosen and announced.

All entries will be featured in the club Journal.

Prizes!: Each winning entry will win a prize. Prizes are as follows:
1st Place: 6 month subscription, Journal feature at my personal account.
2nd Place: 3 month subscription, Journal feature at my personal account.
3rd Place: Journal feature at my personal account.

If anyone would like to donate a prize, or feature the winners in their Journals, let me know! Then I will add a feature in your Journal to the prize list. Keep an eye on the prize listing for updates!



***EDIT:*** I forgot to add something in this Journal that I mentioned in the last one. I won't be adding anyone to the members list during contest time. This prevents people from joining just to vote, then leaving the club. All join requests will be added to the members list as soon as contest time is over. In the meantime I still still add anyone who sends a join request to the watch list.

Also, all contest entries will be added to the favorites.

About Pet-Lovers-Pics Club:

This is a club for people who love to take pictures of their pets! It can be any pet from cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, horses, rodents, goats, marine life, scorpions, spiders, etc! Any submissions must be of PETS, not just any animal, or wild animals. Submissions that contain a wild animal that is being illegally kept as a pet will not be accepted, nor will I accept any photos of zoo animals (because they are technically still wild animals, not anyone's pet). This is for genuine pets only!

Also, only photography submissions will be accepted. No drawings, painting, written works, or digital art. Photographs that contain words, or photographs that have been digitally edited will be accepted if I feel like they are appropriate for the club. If all else fails and you aren't sure if your deviation will be accepted, send it in and ask me!

Also, I would like this to stay a family-friendly environment. So please no works that contain vulgar language,rude gestures, or dead/roadkill animals.

:RULES/GUIDELINES:

1) No inappropriate language or gestures will be allowed in deviations, on public forum, or in comments. They will be removed. I will also not accept any submissions that make references to drugs, illegal activities, or other adult themes. I want this to remain a friendly environment for ALL ages!

2) I, the club administrator, reserve the right to deny/delete entry/membership in to the club, or deny/delete submissions, without notice. I can do so without explanation, but usually I will provide an explanation of some kind if this occurs.

3) This club is for the love of ALL pets. No bashing against others' pets will be allowed. EVERYONE has the right to enjoy and show their beloved pet(s)!



:JOINING THE CLUB!:

1) To join the club, simply start by adding us to your watch list by clicking the devWatch button. Anyone who adds the club to their watch list, will be watched by the club in return!

2) Send the club a Note (NOT a comment) with the word "Join" in the subject line. If you leave a join request as a comment, it may not get seen, and you will likely not be added as a member.

3) Add our icon in your Journal, or somewhere it is visible on your page. You can easily add our icon to your Journal by typing :icon Pet-Lovers-Pics: without the spaces. It will look like this: If you prefer not to add icons to your Journal, but wish to make a text link to the club instead, that is fine. You can do so by typing :dev pet-lovers-pics: without the spaces. It will look like this:*Pet-Lovers-Pics Also, anyone who wants to add our club to their signature, feel free! As long as you show that you are a member of our club in a place where visitors to your page can see it. We want all the advertising we can get so that we can add more members!

4) You must do all of these things to be added to the members list. Those that do not wish to be added to the members list, can just watch the club, and still receive a watch from the club in return. However, only those on the members list can submit work to the club.

5) If you join the club and have followed all of the rules, but see that you are not yet added to the members list, note me again! As the group grows, there may be a time when I get behind on additions. If all else fails, feel free to note me at my personal account as well. I will do my best to make sure all additions are made in a good and timely manner!



:SUBMISSIONS:

1) You must be a club member to submit your work to the club.

2) The submission must be a photograph. It can be ANY sort of photograph, from a polaroid, a disposable camera, or a digital photo. If you wish to do some digital editing to your photo (ie. adding captions, borders, silly hats on the animals, etc.) that is perfectly fine. As long as you can tell it was originally a photo, and not an entire digital work. Drawings will also not be accepted. I know there are many WONDERFUL artists out there, but this club is just for photos of pets. There are many other wonderful clubs on DA that accept other forms of animal/pet artwork.

3) To submit art to the club, simply send a note (NOT a comment) with either a link to the photo in your gallery, or a thumbnail. I know that we all LOVE to take photos of our pets, and I'm sure we all have hundreds! However, I ask that you only send submissions no more than 2 at a time, up to 6 submissions a week. This will help keep me from getting behind on adding submissions as our club grows with new members!
